Course Objectives
Through this workshop, children will:

Enhance their self-awareness and express their future aspirations;

Explore both textual and visual ways of expression;

Synthesize their thoughts and ideas in a collage of still images and text;

Appreciate the aesthetics and creativity in combining artwork, photo, and text
Course Outline
This is a creative mixed-media workshop which explores textual and visual ways of expression. Through the activities in class, children will have opportunities for self- exploration and will be encouraged to express their future aspirations through creative media.
In this 3-hour workshop:
• Children will explore basic concepts of career awareness
• Children will learn how to express themselves through poetry writing
• Children will learn how to make a creative collage
• Children will share their artistic ideas and creative products with peers
Target Participants / Prerequisite
Children enrolling in this workshop should be interested in exploring both textual and visual creative art forms. In addition, the children are expected to have an above-average level of English to complete the creative writing tasks.
Course Instructor
Dr. Serene Chan
Dr. Serene Chan obtained her PCEd and EdD from the University of Hong Kong. She is also an experienced English teacher and curriculum developer with an MA in TESL. She is interested in the enhancement of creativity and the development of gifted education in students. In addition to teaching experience in Hong Kong, she has taught in the United States, Costa Rica, and Macau.
Dr. Suzannie Leung
Dr. Suzannie Leung is an assistant professor in Department of Curriculum and Instruction, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She graduated from CityU with a BA (Hons) degree in Creative Media, a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology and a
MEd degree in Educational Psychology (on dean’s honor list) from CUHK, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education (with distinction) and PhD from HKU.
Dr. Mantak Yuen
Dr. Mantak Yuen is Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Advancement in Inclusive and Special Education, Faculty of Education, the University of Hong Kong. He is a registered counselling and educational psychologist, and a global career
development facilitator. He is a Fellow of Hong Kong Psychological Society and Fellow of the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association.

課程宗旨
透過此工作坊,學生會:
• 增強自我認識,並表達對未來的願景;
• 探索文字和視覺的表達方式;
• 將他們的思想和想法綜合成圖像和文字拼貼;
• 通過詩歌拼和貼創作欣賞藝術作品與文字結合的美學與創意。
課程大綱
這是一個創意多媒體工作坊,讓參加者探討文字和影像的表達方式。 通過課堂上的活動,孩子們將有機會自我探索,並通過創意媒體表達他們對未來的願景。
在這個為期三小時的工作坊:
• 孩子們會探索職業意識的基本概念
• 孩子們會學習透過創作英文詩歌表達自己
• 孩子們會學習製作創意拼貼
• 孩子們將會與其他參加者分享他們的藝術理念和創意作品
目標對象
對文字及藝術有興趣的小學生,需具備良好的英文寫作能力。
課程導師
陳穗寧博士
陳博士於香港大學修畢 PCEd 和 EdD 的學位。她在英語教學和課程發展方面都有相當經驗,並且擁有一個 MATESL 的學位。她致力於幫助學生發展潛能和提高創造力。除了在香港的教學經驗,她也曾在美國,哥斯達黎加和澳門等地任
教。
梁潔瀅博士
梁潔瀅博士現任香港中文大學課程與教學學系助理教授。梁博士獲香港城市大學創意媒體榮譽文學士、香港中文大學心理學深造文憑及教育心理學碩士(院長榮譽錄)、香港大學教育深造文憑(優異)及哲學博士。
袁文得博士
袁文得博士為香港大學教育學院融合與特殊教育研究發展中心副教授及總監。袁博士為註冊諮詢心理學家、教育心理學家和全球職涯發展師,他是香港心理學會及香港專業輔導協會的院士。
