After the completion upon this programme, participants would be able to:
work in groups to attempt to try to solve some geometrical problems such as Pythagoras’ Theorem, Properties of a tetrahedron, Power of Point Theorem, Perplexing Parallelograms, Transformation and Area, Using geometry to explain algebraic identities by their own informal trial-and-error approach though some hand-on experience or exploration activities, group discussion as well as interaction with the tutor;
grasp some geometrical knowledge for the captioned topics to be introduced by the tutor;
apply those geometrical knowledge to solve some unfamiliar geometrical problems;
be strengthened their problem solving and higher ordering skills when they involve in those activities;
be enriched their interpersonal and intrapersonal skills while they would collectively solve some challenging problems; appreciate the beauty of mathematics through a series of activities throughout the course.
Does Math refer Calculation only? Is learning Math involved many working steps only? The aim of this course is to let participants know how to solve some difficult math problems more easily by using some geometrical methods. In addition, participants would be able to appreciate the beauty and power of geometry in our real world in the course.
